Attitudes of Teachers towards Physical Education Teaching in Elementary School

Abstract

Physical education is a very important teaching subject that affects the growth and proper development of children. The main goal of this research is to determine the teachers attitudes to the teaching on Physical Education. The sample of respondents is consisted of 31 teachers from Podgorica and Niksic. Respondents are divided into 2 subsamples according to the criterion of residence: Podgorica and Niksic. It was used a standardized “Secondary PE Teacher Survey Questionnaire” adapted for this research. The results are shown numerically and in percentages, and statistically significant differences are calculated by the Hi square test at the significance level of p = 0.01. The results of the research showed a positive attitude of the teachers towards the teaching of Physical Education, as well as the fact that the teachers are aware of the importance of teaching and conducting the teaching in a wellorganized way.
